Just before 1 a.m. on October 11, 2026, a witness reported seeing individuals described as mole people entering a manhole at 502 West 141 St. in Hamilton Heights, Manhattan. Police from the 30th Precinct were dispatched to the scene.
The incident marks a second reported sighting of mole people using a manhole in the area. New York City has a known population of homeless individuals who live in the subway and sewer systems, commonly referred to as "mole people."
