The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reports that the five elevators recently installed at the 161st Street‑Yankee Stadium subway station have encountered outages, with one expected to remain out of service until winter 2027 due to power problems.
The other elevators were also taken offline during the baseball season, affecting the Bronx’s busiest subway stop that serves Yankee Stadium. The elevators were added earlier this year to improve accessibility at the station.
