The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced it will install crash-detecting technology on additional city buses to warn drivers of potential hazards.
The expansion follows a 16% reduction in bus‑bicycle collisions in 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, according to MTA data.
The agency said the broader rollout is intended to further lower collisions between buses and bicycles and enhance rider safety.
