The city has moved the deadline for filing exemption requests for the newly imposed pied-à-terre tax to Oct. 13. City officials said that over half of the applications received so far have been approved, with about 9,300 submissions recorded.
The change follows the recent enactment of a tax on secondary residences, which requires owners to apply for exemptions through a formal process.
