New York City officials launched the "Blue Highways" program on Monday, moving freight deliveries from trucks onto the city’s waterways using a 55‑year‑old boat.
The effort is intended to cut truck traffic, reduce congestion and lower emissions, and forms part of a broader push to diversify freight routes and ease road congestion.
