New York City announced that beginning in the fall of 2027 it will make free two‑year pre‑kindergarten seats available to every neighborhood in Staten Island and the Bronx. The initiative adds these locations to the city’s existing universal pre‑K program, extending the offering beyond its current coverage.
The expansion means families across all districts of the two boroughs will have access to publicly funded early‑education classrooms without cost. The city’s plan is part of a broader effort to broaden early learning opportunities for children citywide.
