A lawsuit filed on Friday alleges that Brooklyn developer Two Trees illegally raised rents at its Fort Greene property while receiving a special carveout in the New York state budget.
The complaint contends that the rent increases breach the terms of the tax break the company recently obtained. The building involved is located at 300 Ashland Place in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
Tenants say the increases violate the agreement attached to the carveout.
