The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University will open its doors to the public on September 27, 2026 for a final day before closing its public operations.
Founded nearly two centuries ago, the museum is the nation’s oldest natural science research institution and museum and is now preparing to shut down its public access.
Philadelphia City Council members have requested a special hearing in October to consider accountability related to the closure.
