Amtrak and NJ Transit said they will temporarily cut back train service between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York City, New York. The service will operate on a single track from Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 through Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, a period of five weeks.

The reduction is meant to allow crews to finish work associated with the Portal North Bridge cutover. It supports ongoing construction on the Portal North Bridge, a key part of the Northeast Corridor rail upgrade.
