On October 13, 2026, a 28-year-old woman barricaded herself inside a Southwest Philadelphia apartment complex with a rifle at about 3:56 a.m. Police responded, evacuated the building’s occupants and worked to secure the situation.
Police, including Chief Inspector Scott Small, entered the complex and the woman emerged unarmed at roughly 7:30 a.m. She was then taken into custody, and the incident concluded without further violence.
