A memorial ceremony will be held today at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia to honor Al Gury, recognized for his long career teaching art and his commitment to rescuing cats.
Gury taught at the academy for nearly five decades and has been noted locally for his cat‑rescue efforts. The ceremony acknowledges both his contributions to art education and his animal‑rescue work.
