Haverford Township announced that, beginning this summer, it will provide curbside compost collection for all township residents. The new service will gather household organic waste and transport it to the Linvilla composting facility for processing.
The township’s program allows residents to place eligible food scraps, yard trimmings and other compostable materials at their curbside bins on designated collection days. Municipal crews will then retrieve the material alongside regular trash and recycling pickups, ensuring a seamless addition to existing waste‑management routines.
Haverford’s launch places the community among an expanding group of Philadelphia‑area suburbs that have adopted curbside composting. All organic material collected through the Haverford service will be shipped to the Linvilla compost facility, a regional processing center that converts waste into usable compost.
