Link Logistics announced on Wednesday that it is conducting a feasibility study for a new data‑center development, identified as “Project Trainer,” in the community of Trainer, Pennsylvania. The proposed site sits roughly 100 feet from nearby homes, placing the project within a residentially dense portion of Delaware County.
The feasibility phase will assess technical, regulatory and community factors that could affect the viability of the center. Engineers and planners will evaluate power availability, cooling requirements, site access and any zoning constraints that apply to the Trainer location. The close proximity to homes is a key element of the review, as local ordinances often dictate minimum distances for large‑scale facilities.
Trainer, a small unincorporated area in Delaware County, has seen limited commercial development in recent years. The introduction of a data‑center could bring new infrastructure and potential employment opportunities, but it also raises questions about noise, traffic and visual impact for residents living within a short distance of the site. County officials have not yet issued a decision, and the study will provide the data needed for any future permitting process.
