Microplastic pollution was identified in every Delaware River tributary segment that was examined, encompassing 22 stream and river sections across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York.
All of the sampled segments, representing 100% of those tested, contained microplastic particles, reflecting a growing presence of these tiny plastics in waterways throughout the Mid‑Atlantic region.
