On September 26, 2026, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency for eight counties as a nor'easter moved into the region.
The declaration also includes voluntary evacuation orders for several shore towns because of high waves and coastal flooding.
The storm is battering the Philadelphia area, producing high surf and flooding along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts.
