Chunyere "Chichi" Ukeje, a resident of Philadelphia, captured first place in NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge: Mars to Table competition and will receive a $300,000 prize.
The contest is part of NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge, which seeks innovative food system concepts to support astronauts on long‑duration missions, especially future trips to Mars.
The award was announced on September 26, 2026.
