Philadelphia Youth Basketball announced plans to construct a 40,000‑square‑foot workforce center named “The Generator” in the city. The $50 million project is scheduled for a groundbreaking in fall 2027 with an opening anticipated in early 2029.
The nonprofit organization received $500,000 in funding from the Pennsylvania state government, which contributed to moving the project forward.
The Generator will function as a workforce center that supports the organization’s youth basketball programs throughout Philadelphia.
