The volunteer‑run anarchist bookstore Wooden Shoe Books will host a block party on South Street in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to mark its 50th anniversary.
The celebration commemorates five decades since the store’s founding in 1976 and underscores its long‑standing presence in the city’s left‑wing activist community.
Volunteers and the founders are organizing the event as part of the milestone observance.
