Residents in Seattle’s Admiral neighborhood reported brown tap water on October 9, 2026. Seattle Public Utilities said the problem does not appear on its online water‑trouble map, and the Seattle Fire Department noted that firefighters are unlikely to be testing hydrants in the area.
The cause of the discoloration has not been identified. Although fire‑hydrant flushing can sometimes produce brown water, no such activity was scheduled for that day.
