The Seattle Public Library said the Admiral branch in West Seattle and the Fremont branch will now reopen in early January 2027, rather than the November date previously announced.
The Admiral location has remained closed since August 2026 while a new air‑conditioning system is installed, a factor that extended the schedule.
Originally, the library expected the work to be finished and the branch to reopen in November 2026, but the climate‑control upgrades have moved the target into the first weeks of 2027.
