In Seattle, a University of Washington astronomer working with the Rubin Observatory team reported a possible discovery of a new dwarf planet and highlighted upcoming celestial events for November 2026.

The candidate object was detected during the deep‑sky surveys carried out by the Rubin Observatory, which are intended to locate distant bodies in the solar system.

The astronomer also pointed out that the November full moon will be at perigee, creating a larger‑appearing supermoon, and that the Leonids meteor shower is set to peak later in the month.
