A recent audit shows the Regional Homelessness Authority exceeded its budget by roughly $17 million, leaving the City of Seattle and King County liable for at least $16.7 million.

The authority, which receives state and local funding to address homelessness, was found to have significant budget overruns in the latest financial review.

The overspend adds a substantial financial obligation for the two local governments as they continue efforts to combat homelessness in the region.
