Seattle Department of Transportation installed new pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of 47th Avenue and Charlestown Street in West Seattle on October 16, 2026, marking the first crosswalks at that location. The agency also noted that the stop sign on Charlestown west of California is the only one there.
The installation is part of a broader effort by the department to upgrade streets south of Admiral Way, adding additional crosswalks and stop signs throughout the West Seattle area.
