Two audits released on Wednesday indicated the Seattle Police Department mostly complied with the city’s 2025 surveillance regulations, though they also highlighted lingering concerns.

The reviews examined the department’s application of surveillance safeguards established for 2025 and concluded that overall adherence was strong.

Despite the general compliance, the audits pointed to specific areas where the rules were not fully met, underscoring the need for continued oversight.

Mayor Wilson’s office noted the findings as part of the city’s effort to evaluate the effectiveness of its surveillance safeguards.
