Seattle Public Schools announced a pilot program that will install weapon detectors at the entrances of two high schools for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative will require every student and staff member to pass through metal detectors when entering campus.
The district approved the security pilot, which aims to enhance safety by screening all individuals at the school doors.
