Stan Cho, who left his role as tourism, culture and gaming minister in July 2026 after a controversy involving $16,000 in hotel expenses, defended a recent promotion while acknowledging that he billed taxpayers for Toronto hotel stays.
Cho had been a member of Premier Doug Ford’s cabinet before stepping down following the expense scandal, which raised questions because he lived in the area.
He later spoke in support of the new appointment, saying the promotion was appropriate despite the earlier expenses.
