On October 1, 2026, Alexandria city officials will make a publicly accessible map showing every Flock surveillance camera location and will begin a third‑party audit of the city’s surveillance programs.
The decision comes after a September 8 city council meeting in which residents raised concerns about the Flock camera system, leading officials to seek more transparency.
The audit will be carried out by an independent auditor, with the police department and city council overseeing the effort.
