Amtrak and VRE Service Suspended for Nine Days Starting Oct. 16

Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express will suspend rail service between Washington, D.C., and Virginia for nine days beginning on Oct. 16, 2026, while track crews replace tracks beneath Union Station.

The closure, which runs through Oct. 24, 2026, affects the rail corridor from Union Station to Virginia and will interrupt commuting and travel during that period.
