Amtrak and the Virginia Railway Express will halt rail service between Washington, D.C., and Virginia for nine days, beginning on October 16 and ending on October 24, while crews replace tracks beneath Union Station.

The temporary closure affects both commuter and intercity trains that normally travel through Union Station on the D.C.–Virginia corridor.
