The District Department of Transportation announced that lane closures in the 9th Street Tunnel will remain in effect until June 2027 as repair work continues.

The closures are required to address damage caused by a Metrobus fire that occurred in April.

The tunnel, a major traffic artery in Washington, D.C., will stay partially closed while the ongoing repairs are completed.
