Fairfax County officials announced on Saturday a proposal to redesign an 11‑mile segment of Interstate 495 near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
The plan targets the portion of the Capital Beltway that crosses the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland, aiming to modify the highway’s configuration around the bridge.
Interstate 495, known as the Capital Beltway, encircles Washington, D.C., and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge serves as the crossing for the highway over the river.
