U.S. health officials, including the Department of Health and Human Services and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., announced on Thursday a plan that would permit specialty pharmacies to compound certain peptide drugs. The announcement was made in Washington, D.C.
The proposal is intended to broaden access to peptide injections that have become popular among wellness influencers.
Peptide injections are largely unregulated and have drawn a following among supporters of the health secretary and other wellness promoters.
