Local officials praised the completion of $5.5 million safety upgrades on New Hampshire Avenue in Prince George’s County on Sunday. Residents, however, say dangerous intersections, frequent red‑light running and inadequate crosswalks remain problems.

The multimillion‑dollar project was aimed at improving safety on the heavily traveled corridor, yet community members argue that the work has not fully addressed hazardous intersections or the prevalence of red‑light violations.

Residents continue to call for additional measures to protect pedestrians and curb traffic violations at the avenue’s crossings.
