The National Park Service announced that southbound lanes on the George Washington Memorial Parkway will be closed temporarily between Tulane Drive and Morningside Lane, and between Morningside Lane and Alexandria Avenue. The closures will run from October 5 through October 8, 2026, lasting four days.
The work is for tree‑trimming to improve sight lines and will impact both morning and afternoon commuter traffic on the parkway.
