Virginia state police and Arlington County reported that speed cameras placed in school zones started issuing traffic tickets on Tuesday evening, each fine set at $100.

The county's network now comprises 35 cameras after ten additional sites were installed during the current school year.

These cameras are intended to enforce speed limits and improve safety for students and pedestrians in the area.
