WSSC Water announced on September 29 that it is restoring all systems at the Potomac Water Filtration Plant and has issued an urgent request for water-use restrictions after a power outage forced the utility to limit consumption.
The outage affected roughly 1.9 million customers. The plant provides drinking water to Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, and staff are working to bring the filtration facility back online.
