Hundreds of community members gathered at The Forks on Sunday, Oct. 4, for a march to Portage and Main that concluded with a round dance honoring the late activist Alayah McIvor.
The crowd moved from the waterfront through downtown before stopping at Portage and Main, where participants formed a round dance. Melissa Robinson joined the participants in the tribute.
Organizers said the event was meant to recognize McIvor’s advocacy and the lives she worked to protect.
