An internal memo released on Tuesday, October 13, indicates that mistakes in a federal data system used by End Homelessness Winnipeg caused the city’s chronic homelessness figures to be significantly overstated.
The overestimation suggests that Winnipeg’s homelessness statistics, which inform local policy and funding decisions, may be inaccurate.
CBC News reported on the memo’s findings.
