On Friday morning, members of the community reported open drug use, piles of garbage and individuals sleeping outdoors near Mission Baptist Church in Winnipeg's West End. The visible conditions have led to appeals for additional outreach services in the neighbourhood.
Bonnie Ferguson-Baird, who is connected to both Mission Baptist Church and the Freedom International School housed on the same site, observed the situation and highlighted the need for more support for those affected.
