A fire ignited shortly before 3:00 a.m. on October 1, 2026 at the Main Street Project building located at Main Street and Logan Avenue in Winnipeg. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded, put out the blaze and evacuated every occupant.
The evacuation displaced several residents who were staying at the emergency shelter, which the Main Street Project operates for people in need.
