On Monday morning, shortly before 6 a.m., a fire erupted in a one‑and‑a‑half‑storey house on Granville Street in Winnipeg’s North Point Douglas neighbourhood. Fire crews from Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded, and nearby residents assisted.
The combined effort rescued a resident from the burning home, and the individual was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
No additional injuries were reported in the residential area.
