An open contest is now underway for the Fort Rouge‑East Fort Garry council seat after the incumbent withdrew from the race. Four candidates are vying for the position, each highlighting issues such as homelessness, public safety and infill development.
Sherri Rollins, who had filed to seek a third term on the council, announced her withdrawal, turning the ward into an open race. With the seat now vacant, the remaining candidates are focusing their campaigns on the three key topics noted above.
