Residents of Manitoba's Interlake community say the number of red‑sided garter snakes is on the rise. At Eriksdale Recreation Centre, a local collector, Jerry Saunders, regularly gathers about twenty to thirty snakes each day and releases them onto the grass.
The growing number of sightings has prompted locals to capture and relocate the reptiles throughout the area.
