Ontario announced on October 13, 2026 that communities in northwestern Ontario west of the 90th meridian will remain on daylight time permanently, ending the twice‑annual clock changes. Kenora residents welcomed the decision.
The provincial government said the change will keep the region on daylight time year‑round, removing the need to adjust clocks each spring and fall.
