Just before 2 a.m. on September 28, 2026, officers from the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a man brandishing a handgun on Portage Avenue near Sherbrook Street.
The 36-year-old suspect pointed what was later identified as an air‑soft handgun at the officers, prompting them to intervene.
Police seized the replica firearms and a knife and arrested the man on weapons‑related charges.
