A 42-year-old man was taken into custody by the Winnipeg Police Service on Friday afternoon after being accused of shoplifting at a retailer on the 1400 block of Portage Avenue.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting the incident at around 2 p.m., and the suspect was identified on the store’s security footage before being apprehended nearby. He has been charged with robbery.
