Effective Oct. 1, 2026, Manitoba's government announced new regulations that remove the requirement for a medical note when an employee is absent for a week or less, or up to ten days in a calendar year, due to a minor illness or injury.
The change replaces the former rule that workers had to provide a doctor's note for short‑term sick leave.
