A new report from Doctors Manitoba shows that the province has made progress in overall physician recruitment, reaching a level of 235 physicians per 100,000 residents, yet it continues to lack sufficient specialists and doctors in rural areas.

The findings indicate that additional effort is required to draw more specialists and rural physicians to the province.

Manitoba has long faced challenges with doctor shortages, especially for specialist and rural positions, and the current report highlights that those challenges persist despite recent improvements.
