The Manitoba government announced new regulations for personal electric vehicles that will come into force in 2027. Under the rules, riders must be at least 16 years old, wear helmets that fit properly, and operate vehicles at no more than 25 km/h.
The province is revising its traffic legislation to include e‑scooters and other personal electric vehicles that are increasingly seen on Manitoba roads, with the aim of improving safety for riders and other road users.
