The Government of Manitoba announced new measures aimed at keeping residential hydro rates affordable while improving transparency and accountability in the province’s financial reporting. These initiatives are part of the Budget Implementation and Tax Statutes Amendment Act, known as BITSA 2.
Finance Minister Adrien Sala presented the measures under BITSA 2, a legislative package that implements the provincial budget. Manitoba Hydro is identified as a key component of the effort to reduce household electricity costs and clarify financial reporting practices.
